Can’t Lose Cant

April 29th saw the launch of Can’t Lose Cant, the world’s first dictionary of the Traveller language Cant, also known as Shelta or Gammon. This book was first published in 2003 in Kildare by Kids’ Own Publishing Partnership. Out of print for many years, Can’t Lose Cant is back with a new foreword by Oein De Bharduin, Traveller writer and activist, and launched by Senator Eileen Flynn, Traveller activist with Sligo Traveller Support Group providing a platform for a mighty panel discussion on Cant, Traveller Culture and the way forward.
