Poet Mary Branley was born in Sligo and has lived in Boston, New York, London and other places before returning to north Sligo in 1997.
Her first collection of poetry "A Foot on the Tide" was published in 2002 by Summer Palace Press.
She is currently working on a second collection of poetry Plain of Eve (published later this year), a memoir of her seven years in the US, as well as continuing to channel spiritual texts.

After having worked as a teacher for almost 25 years, she has recently moved on to work with children in a creative capacity as writer and facilitator.
In an arts-based organisation called Kids' Own Publishing Partnership, Mary and the director and artist Orla Kenny have developed a series of books by children for children.
Mary also runs writing workshops for adults in journaling, poetry, and writing for transformation.
